Moody, Minimal Distillery Wedding

Morgan and Matt hosted a big celebration for all their family and friends at the ultimately cool and beautiful Journeyman Distillery in southwest Michigan. When it came to the designed details for their big day, they wanted everything to feel neutral, minimal, and refined. Simple, typographic layouts with classic-feeling typefaces, sparse use of color, and wax seals all helped to achieve this.

We made sure to infuse some character, warmth, and personal touches as well. Kraft paper stocks with lovely fibers and variations running through added a unique quality and reflected Journeyman’s handcrafted spirits. While the color is minimal, those I did include were chosen carefully to represent their event: a deep green for all the live greenery they had throughout the space, and a rich gold reminiscent of whiskey as well as the warm tones of the wood and brick. Lastly, a feather illustration appears across many of the pieces, a nod to the distillery’s brand and packaging.
