Megan and Nick are a couple of free spirited souls who wanted to create a wedding celebration all their own while still honoring a bit of timeless tradition. Their goal was to balance highlighting and celebrating the culture and colors of San Antonio, communicating a fun and relaxed experience, and maintaining a sense of classic elegance and romanticism. This sentiment was reflected all the way down to their venue choices: their ceremony was at the traditional little church Megan’s parents got married in, and their reception was at a vibrant restaurant within a boutique hotel right on the river.
Carrying these vibes through to the printed details was key. I had some ideas to play on the look of traditional Mexican papel picado banners, and a laser cut pocket ended up being the perfect solution to infuse their essence. We kept the invitation classy and elevated by using a white-on-white combo, but added a whimsical little pop of color with some hits of peachy pink. The day-of pieces, however, skew more colorful and fun to reflect the more informal reception. I replicated the exact same laser cut design for cohesion with the invitation suite, but turned up the boldness by filling the negative space with bright colors.
MEGAN'S WORDS
"Rachel's meticulous attention to detail is second-to-none. She is creative, thinks outside the box, and is truly an artist of her kind.
Nothing about our wedding was "cookie cutter", and Rachel understood that completely. She made sure our invitations, seating chart, and menu truly reflected our whimsical personalities. I set forth a dichotomous mission to create something fun, lax, and vibrant without forgoing the classic wedding aura. It was not easy, and Rachel rose to the challenge! 100 times over I would recommend her to anyone looking for a beyond ordinary and a truly one-of-a-kind wedding suite."
